Now as for today's Warcraft Wednesday post...The other day a friend post a link to these babies on my Facebook wall.
I had a good laugh, but since hubby and I play both horde and alliance we'd have to get both banners and $30+ for one is just too much for a silly banner, not to mention we have nowhere currently to hang them, so it'd be better to wait til we have a house and a gaming room to get those and hang em up!
Also, while browsing around on the site (ThinkGeek.com) I found these and about died laughing:
Yes, that's right - actual mana and health pots!
Apparently they're like energy drinks, but the concept is actually pretty amusing, that someone thought to make these a reality. I'm tempted to order 1 set of each just for posterity! As mentioned above, I found you can also purchase the mana ones on Amazon.com.
From a Blue Poster on the Cataclysm WoW forums:
Get those opt-ins ready for the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm closed beta! The sundering of Azeroth is nigh, and you don’t want to be left out in the cold of Northrend when you could be enjoying the sun-drenched beaches on the goblin isle of Kezan. To ensure you’re opted-in and eligible as a potential candidate, you’ll need a World of Warcraft license attached to your Battle.net account, have your current system specifications uploaded to the Battle.net Beta Profile Settings page, and have expressed interest through the franchise-specific check boxes. It honestly took a whole 30 seconds and that was because I was distracted by something on TV so I didn't click the boxes as fast as they popped up, lol...
So get your opt-ins set up, updated, and ready; we're worgen real hard to get the beta going soon!
Hubby told me the other day that it's currently in Alpha, so Beta should be this summer which means that the expansion should be in the fall - plenty of time for us to set a little money aside each month to get me a spanking new laptop to play on!
My roommate in college got into the Beta for Burning Crusade and let me play on her account a few times just to check it out and then hubby and I opt'd in all of our accounts (1 in my name, 3 in his although one of his brothers primarily plays the 1 account but was a minor when hubby set it up for him) and hubby got 3 - 3! - Beta invites for Wrath! Of course he kept one for himself and gave me one. He toyed with selling the third on ebay but decided to give it to a WoW friend of ours that we meet up with in person from time to time as he's from nearby (and was in our wedding).
I never do *that* much in the Betas, as I'd hate to level up all the way only to have to do it all over again, but it is neat to roam around and check out all the new zones and get a feel for the starting quests so you're a bit ahead of the rest on launch day when it comes to knowing what you're doing and where to go. Also, with the Wrath Beta it was fun to finally try out the Deathknight Hero class too!
I'm hoping at least hubby or 1 get into the Cataclysm Beta, as I can't wait to check out the new Goblin and Worgen races and see for myself how all the original zones I loved so much in Vanilla have been altered!
There's also going to be some major changes to professions in Cataclysm, one of which includes that they're getting rid of the specialized professions (for example, in alchemy you could do a quest to gain either Transmute Mastery, Potions Master or Master of Elixurs). I'm kind of annoyed by this, as the specialized alchemy quest chain required a lot of time farming mats and spending money on some of them too.
This sound kind of cool though - adding a friend through Real ID (aka email address)
To add a Real ID friend to your friends list, one of you will need to know the others email address. When you add someone as a Real ID friend, a request will be sent to the person you invite and they'll need to accept the request before you can see their information (character, server, etc.) in your friends list.
Your email address is not displayed in the friends list, and not visible to friends of people you are Real ID friends with.
Just think, by the end of the year, it'll be here!
Hey Ray J!!
ReplyDeleteOmg, you answered my PRAYEERRS! I have not been on WOW (since Feb. 4th 2010) and I was looking for a way to get back in the game. I currently don't have the money and if I did my mother would not allow it because she thinks that WOW is worthless and bad for me.....LMAO.
Anyway, I have tried to get back on there (looking for a paid job but no luck so far QQing right now Roflmao!). But when I found out about this opportunity on 20sb.net, I was ready to go back and continue playing with my rogue, lock, druid, and future disc. priest.
Here is how I am eligible for this giveaway:
1. I follow you on Twitter of course. Twitter name is @iChristina2010
2. I follow your blog. ^_^
3. I just asked you a question on Formspring.
4. I just tweeted about the giveaway and well continue to do so till the 26th.
5. Promise to mention giveaway on my blog tomorrow!
I'm awesome. WOOT! This is awesome.
woohoo for giveaways! i follow your blog and follow you on twitter! :)
ReplyDeleteFirst comment is just a comment! I plan on entering your AWESOME giveaway once I have more time...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Jen and I definitely signed up for the beta. We got into the Wrath beta and had a lot of fun with it! ^_^
I am SO excited for Cata. Especially the worgen... I think mine is going to be an elegant noble lady :P But we'll see. ^_^
Also, my sister bought us a mana potion before. They're good!!!
@Lady Mel
ReplyDeleteHaha you're welcome! If you win, you could put it towards a $30 60 day gametime card! How awesome! Our WoW friend (the one I mentioned was in our wedding and hubby gave a Wrath Beta key to) was talking to hubby today, trying to get us to return from hiatus early with him, just to grind gold and alts until the expansion comes out. Hubby has no time to play right now though, and if we're going to play together I need a new reliable laptop for it =/
@Angela
I'm so excited too - I wasn't a fan of Burning Crusade, and while I did enjoy Wrath, I'll always prefer Azeroth and the content Vanilla had to offer, so I'm looking forward to the game getting back to there! I can't wait for Goblins! I'm going to faction change my Nelf rogue to one, and she's an engineer too so that makes it even more perfect! I've also been waiting to make a banker toon Hordeside just because I want it to be a goblin with a Harry Potter-esque name, lol...
Glad to hear the mana pots actually taste good - I've never been one for straight up energy drinks before, but like I said, I might just have to buy a set of each, just to have =)
I can't believe I wasn't following you on Twitter or on your blog?! How'd that happen?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm such an Amazon nut. I buy practically everything I can on there! I could SO use this gift certificate to add to my summer reading (or gaming...)!
I've not played any version of WoW other than Vanilla and a little bit of BC. I actually started playing when Vanilla came out in Nov '04, but I get bored easily. My fave toon I had was a Draenei pally when BC first came out. Never leveled past 35 on any toon, tho! :\
So, anyway, back to the giveaway. My entries so far:
1. Following you on Twitter (@teacher_geek)
2. Tweeted (RTed your tweet!)
3. Following your blog now.
By the end of the day, I'm sure I'll be back with more entries! :)

I'm following your blog now :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen those "mana" and "health" potions in the Think Geek catalog. So funny!
Thanks for letting me know about this via 20sb - I am sooo behind in my blogs! I am not a WoW player, but I could certainly use an Amazon card for books for my new kindle!
ReplyDeleteI already follow you via google reader, and I just followed you on twitter too (I'm makingnew.)
And I just posted a link in my most recent post: http://makingnew.wordpress.com/2010/05/23/project-365-weeks-3-4/
Happy wow-iversary!
Happy 5 years! I didn't even think about it, but it's been 5 years for me too! 5 years, wow! I'm afraid to type /played on my main! >.<
ReplyDeleteI don't do much in the betass either. I got in both wrath and BC betas and I just looked around and played the new classes. I currently have a goblin and a worgen. I've only played the goblin so far! their starting area feels like being in an amusement park. It's still reaaaaally buggy, but I'm enjoying playing!
I can't wait for the final version to be here!!!
anywho, here are my entries
