I realize I've been a horrible blogger as of late... the reasoning behind it is that I don't get much time
alone to really sit down and blog these days and when I do get a rare moment alone I'd rather relax and waste time doing other things.

That said though... here's the latest photos on my phone, albeit a few days late =)

Jay and his Aunt Katie, being silly together

My birthday was last Wednesday but since I had to work Wednesday (I requested it off but for some reason my boss misread it and gave me Thursday off instead... O.o) Thursday was celebration day!

Hubby and Jay got me these babies: chicBuds earbuds with blue Swarovski Crystals! I LOVE the retractable feature on the earbuds so they don't get tangled and have been wanting a pair of chicBuds for like a year or so!

 Getting my annual birthday pedicure

The color is called Chicago Champagne Toast by OPI

Hubby took me to see The Expendables 2 and then we went for dinner at Olive Garden. Afterwards we stopped at Toys R Us to see if their Thomas the Train sale had started that day or if it was the next as I couldn't remember what the flyer said (it was the next). We saw this adorable girl's Robin costume! If we had a little girl I would have soooo bought it!

We did find WoW Megablock Legos though!
I got the Tauren on the Wyvern while hubby got the Draenai on the Griffin.

Jay had fun taking a bubble bath:

I build my WoW Megablock set after Jay went to bed =)

Dog bed I picked up for under $30 at Walmart for Lady Girl. We had to give back the doggie crate my friend was letting me borrow as her dog was acting up and they needed it. She seemed confused as to where to lay at night so we thought she needed a bed of her own.

 Can you spot Jay?
Little stinker climbed up on the loveseat and poked his head under the blinds to look out =D

We went over to my parent's house Sunday night to celebrate my birthday with my family. Jay decided to climb into the toybox ottoman!

Other gifts I got for my birthday:
Once Upon a Time, season 1 on DVD
The Tigger Movie on DVD
Ferris Bueller's Day Off on DVD
Enchanted on DVD
Divergent paperback
Giftcards to Old Navy and Target

Last Tuesday we visited my sister 2 hours away in Waukegan and we drove the 5 minutes to Gurnee Mills outlet mall. They have a Rainforest Cafe restaurant and we figured Jay was old enough to go and enjoy it. Here he is, sipping chocolate milk and playing with the crayons they gave him. He seemed to enjoy it and after he ate I walked him around the restaurant to check out all the different anamtronic areas. He liked the big gorillas!

Friday evening we went out for dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, where we watched the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games in London! This is kinda neat actually as 4 years ago we were sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings, on the opposite side of the restaurant from where we were here, watching the opening ceremonies! It's kinda become a tradition... hard to believe that was already 4 years ago though!

 Sleepy doggie, all curled up!

Here she is using Jay's Rock n Roll Elmo as a pillow, lol...

Jay wanted the Goldfish crackers so I brought them down for him. We thought he was done so we closed it up and sat it on the couch. Guess not - I looked over and saw him with his arm all the way in the big box, helping himself!

Enjoying some Chuck E Cheese pizza while watching the Chuck E Cheese anamatronics up on the stage. Wanting to get out of the house on Sunday for a bit, we were limited to doing something indoors as it had already rained and looked like it was going to rain again. We decided to take Jay to Chuck E Cheese since he hasn't been there since last Thanksgiving. $20 for a pizza, 2 drinks and 25 tokens = 2 whole hours of fun for Jay!

 Riding the Chuck E mobile!

*THE* Chuck E Cheese came out and visited Jay. He got really excited and was trying to climb across the car to get to him!

Just in awe of meeting the real Chuck E Cheese!

"Did you guys see that?! It was Chuck E Cheese!"

They didn't have the Bob the Builder tractor ride Jay loved so much last time we were there. Instead, this Noah's Ark ride was its replacement. Jay enjoyed it for a whole 30 seconds.

He found a Clifford ride and decided to have a staredown with the dog.

Since I was pre-occupied with life last week and missed getting my post up, I'm sharing photos from the last 2 weeks here.

That big ugly bug was one I got stuck killing as I saw it during Jay's naptime and of course hubby was at work. It was soooo disgusting!  It had like super thin daddy-long-legs type legs but it could fly! I had to use a chair just to be able to reach and then swat at it a bit to get it low enough for me to kill it. So gross!

Jay decided to hug Elmo - it was too cute not to take a few pictures!
I'm soooo glad he's starting hugging - mommy could really use some hugs these days!

He found a "new" way to play with his activity table /facepalm

Jay likes his Red Mango - yum!

My Influenster Mom VoxBox came in the mail finally!
Expect a post about what I got soon!

I painted my nails Indigo-Go Girl by Ulta.
Not a fan of how many coats I had to put on, but it did peel off nicely when I got tired of it!

Jay fell asleep in my dad's Jeep!

The female pitbull/border collie puppy we gave to a no-kill shelter.

The 2 male pitbull/border collie puppies we gave to a no-kill shelter.
These puppies are adorable! I'm soooo glad that they have a really good chance at being adopted to good homes! I can't thank my friend enough for all the help she was last week, contacting shelters for me in regards to the dogs that we had to do something with asap. If you're interested in any of these super friendly cuties, they are available for adoption at The Anti-Cruelty Society shelter in Chicago (unless they already found homes this past weekend!).

This is Lady Girl (aka Lady).
She's a border collie/lab/Australian shepherd mix, between 3 and 4 years old. She's such a sweetie and well-mannered dog, we were able to take her in with no problems at all. Jay is beyond thrilled to have a dog in the house and Tiger is becoming less and less territorial with each day as she comes to realize the dog isn't going anywhere, nor is she interested in hurting her. I took her to the vet on Friday and she seems to be in good health - no heartworms or fleas or ticks that the vet could see. She does have swelling real bad in one ear and a lot of yeast with bacteria and puss in the other ear that the vet gave us medicated drops to give her twice daily to massage into her ear canals and clean them out. We plan on getting her spayed in the upcoming months, but we need to save up for it first as we weren't planning on getting a dog so soon and we no longer qualify for the voucher. We also took her to the PetCo Grooming salon and they got her cleaned up real nice for us and removed the rest of the dead fur that kept falling off her after we gave her a bath.

Lady Girl relaxing outside in my parent's backyard as I had to pick-up Jay and she can't be in the house as my parent's dog doesn't know her yet.
Jay enjoying a styrofoam bowl of Goldfish crackers while reading his book as we wait for dinner at Denny's.

This past Saturday hubby and I went to a wedding. I've known the bride since kindergarten, as we went to grade school and junior high together, hubby knew her from our youth group days at church. Her and her husband met their 1st year of college, almost 10 years ago. So glad that they finally got married after all this time!

This was my entree at the reception - a half baked chicken, with potatoes (underneath the chicken) and veggies. Hubby had the prime-rib cut steak. We were seated with an old friend of mine and hubby's from youth group and her husband (she was in our wedding and we try to get together with them at least once a year when they visit from out of state) and while we were seated further back, we were right next to the open bar, which was a-okay with us!

They had the local Moonlight Jazz Orchestra play for the reception music. It was neat, but not a lot of variety for dancing as it was mostly various types of jazz songs mixed with some swing. The band said they'd be there til 4am! We left around 10pm, when the majority of the crowd had fanned out as well. It was a fun time though - several other friends and familiar faces were there as well.

*edit*
I just realized, this is my 900th post!!!
Think I might do a giveaway when I reach 1000!

Jay now likes to open all the drawers in the kitchen...

...and then close them all, one by one.

Tiger thought she saw a bug or something on the wall and I caught her stretched out,
standing like this trying to reach it and check it out, lol...

Being a big boy, drinking from a straw sippy! Yay!

My Thomas the Assault Tank Engine shirt arrived! It was originally the shirt of the day awhile back on either Teefury or Ript and I missed it, so I bought directly from the artist on Red Bubble. A bit more pricey than the original $10 deal, but oh well - I had to have it!

I bought shorter shorts this summer from Old Navy - they were cute and I wanted to try them and turns out, they weren't all that short and fit me pretty well! Guys, I haven't worn shorts that didn't come to my knees in years!

We were at Gordman's the other day and Jay was trying to dive out of the cart to reach a plush Ernie doll he saw on the bottom shelf. I let him hold it while we shopped but really didn't want to spent $16 on a plush doll that did nothing (for $4 more we could get a talking one at Walmart or somewhere). Eventually I snuck it away from him but remembered I had plush Bert and Ernie's when I was a kid so while Jay was taking his nap I went looking in a few storage boxes for my old stuffed animals from my parent's house and found them! Jay was so excited to see Ernie (and Bert) when he woke up from his nap - he's been carrying Ernie around with him everywhere, including to bed! I don't know when or why or how he got on this Ernie kick, but he's been nuts about the dude all week!

Jay carrying around his favorite things:
Binky, burpie and Ernie

Sunday night, just chillin' in the family room with his burpie, binky, his light-up duckie from Bath and Body Works and his feet up on a pillow, lol...
