I'm glad obvious ones like WoW, Tomb Raider, Mario Bros, Zelda and the like are included, however I am a bit surprised that revolutionary games/franchises like Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero were left off! I mean DDR was one of the first to incorporate movement like dancing into the gaming genre (and look where are now with the Kinect, PS Move and Wii!) and Guitar Hero... well that one paved the way quite a bit too for Rock Band and all the other accessory dependent games. Also surprised that Little Big Planet isn't included either, as it won so many "game of the year awards" and was the first major PS3 release that EVERYONE seemed to love.

For the "Era1" I found it amusing that ET was nominated! That game was HORRIBLE! I remember playing it on Atari when I was like 4, getting so confused as the controls sucked and there really wasn't much of a plot as to what you were supposed to do! LOL... and you'll see that in "Era3" Michael Jackson's Moonwalker was nominated as well! That game was a bit amusing despite being terribad, lol...

Other fun ones I've personally played that are on the list include: Fable, Fallout, Final Fantasy VII, Goldeneye007, Pacman, and Starfox, despite recalling plenty others on the list.

What are your thoughts? Which ones have you played?

  1. DDR WAS the first dance type game =P followed the following year by Pump It Up. And guitar hero was actually a quasi-rip off of the japanese game guitar freaks. /endnerd

I actually feel kind of insulted that ICO was left out but things like Halo 2, Brutal legend, and TWO SimCity games were in.

Very happy to see Shadow Of Colossus in the list though, that game was beautiful.
