I'm baaaaack

http://always-online.com/images/HappyPC.png
We got our PC back last night, as the new power supply arrived Monday evening and one of hubby's co-workers dropped it off yesturday and brought it home and hooked up last night before heading off to UPS for the night.

So, we now return to your regularly scheduled posting! Yay!

Feels good to be back, as much I got used to using my phone to read blogs, post on Facebook and Twitter, check my email, and surf the web I like having a big screen, as after awhile, reading on my phone starts to give me a headache. Plus, I don't like typing more than a Twitter or Facebook status on my phone, as it takes longer to type out a post on there than it does using an actual normal keyboard.

That said, expect me to be commenting more on your posts (those of you that I read) as well as responding more to the comments on my posts here.

In other news...

Hubby and I reactivated our WoW accounts last night (well, okay, it was early this morning, which is really still night time for us). It only took maybe 3 minutes to update and patch everything.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_utpn85k5ndo/S6kDD58AjvI/AAAAAAAAAKg/al0aeux5keA/s1600/warcraftwednesdays-logo.gifWe were talking a few months back with a friend about coming back soon before Cataclysm comes out (which sounds like it'll be roughly about 2 years exactly after this last expansion did, as the Beta timing is similar too - they'll probably announce the official release date next month at Blizzcon) and were discussing about just farming for gold so we're not broke come expansion, getting our alts and professions leveled up, etc rather than focus on raiding for now. It'd be a simple way to kill time for the next few months. My druid, hunter and rogue all have at least 1 profession that still isn't maxed out: my druid needs her epic flying since I'm planning on playing her first in the new expansion if we go with alliance and her enchanting isn't maxed yet, my Belf hunter still needs her jewelcrafting maxed and my rogue still needs to hit 80 and max out her professions (mining and engineering), as I want to faction change her to a goblin in the expansion.

As stupid as it sounds, you put time and effort into something for 4+ years, you get a bit attached to the toons you play and it felt really good to be able to login, as I haven't really played since before the holidays even though my account didn't actually expire til Feb. 1.

I logged into my Boomkin first, who wears a mix of tier 7 & 8 gear with a few items from Heroic ToC (5man). I definitely remember how to play a Boomkin and the rotation I use which hasn't changed yet, although I know I'm a bit rusty as a healer and didn't even want to try and tackle that. I saw in Trade Chat people looking for a few more members for a 10man ToC and decided to go for it, as I never got to finish that one on my Druid. Unfortunately we were having trouble finding tanks and the group gave up looking. I quested in Icecrown for a bit, doing the chain that unlocks the Shadow Vault as apparently I didn't do much questing on my Druid in that area yet. She's got just over 2k gold - my goal for her is to get her Epic Flying before Cataclysm comes out. I was a little confused by her gear though, as I couldn't remember what stats were different in healing and dps for a Druid and there were 2 rings in my bag that I couldn't figure out why I had them.

Next, I decided to log on my pally - my first toon and was my primary toon for 4 years (save for the summer before Wrath when I played my Belf). I didn't do too much on her... her gear is all tier 7 with items mostly from Naxx and the early instances of this expansion, as I switched to my Druid and found a raid guild on her since my pally's broke up. She's got epic flying with max professions (herbalism and alchemy) so I don't really have much to do on her these days. No one was online in my guild or on my friends list though so I logged over to my Belf.

She's guildless - wtf?! I know her guild is still active as the GL was recruiting on the realm forums for more members... we told him we were taking a break from the game and that we'd be on hiatus til it was closer to Cataclysm. All my other toons are still guilded but a family/afk rank. I'm really confused... it's not like it was a hardcore raid guild. The GL wasn't on last night when I was so, so if I see him tonight I'll be sure to ask if I can come back just as I hate being guildless, especially when the majority of my active friends hordeside were all in that guild. My hunter doesn't need much work - she's currently my best geared toon, as we were farming ToC10 when I quit and ICC was just implemented. She's got epic flying, just needs to get her Jewelcrafting maxed out.

Next I logged on my rogue. Apparently she's only level 71 - I coulda sworn she was level 72! Oh well... I did most of the Coldarra quests on her last night and got her halfway through her level. She's got the BoA leveling shoulders too which seems to help a little bit. Like I said, I want to get her to 80 before Cataclysm comes out so I can eventually faction change her to a cute little goblin - I think a rogue goblin with engineering would be pretty sweet! I just need to max her engineering up though too... I tried to find a group for Utgarde Keep via the LFG thingy but it took forever and didn't pop til I was about to log off and go to bed.

Is it just me, or did they boost a lot of things? I don't remember my Boomkin being able to 3 shot mobs before they reached me and I don't remember my rogue being able to take out 3 mobs before she needed to eat/bandage. Craziness...

I accepted my friend's request to be Real ID friends, although her and 1 other person are the only ones I'd intend to actually use it with. I also filled out the email form to update the account holder's name on my account, as it's still in my maiden name and not my married name - my maiden name is too uncommon (Googling only brings up me), whereas my married name is much more common, however after attaching all the documents and filling out the official Blizzard Support email form, it sent the thing back to me, wtf?! Grrrr... guess I'm gonna have to find out what's up with that now. Supposidly with the Real ID thing in game, friends of your friend can also see your name, which kinda creeps me out. Also, there's a hack/exploit with the Real ID thing where anyone can use it to pull your name off the Real ID tag by typing in the hack/exploit and you would never know. That creeps me out as like I said, there's a few jerks on my server that clearly don't like me.

Anyways, I played for a few hours last night and got off soon after hubby got home from work. He then got on and well, he was still playing when I went to sleep. He had to be up by 9:45 for a conference call and when I woke up around 10, he had his bluetooth on and was still playing... he didn't get off til about 230pm! I asked him if he ever went to bed - he says he got about 5 hours of sleep, but we were discussing lunch about 2 hours ago and he passed out on me and is still napping... oh well, I ate!

"I'm gonna name my seahorse Drowner! Wouldn't that be ironic??"

Ah the new season of The Guild...

For those of you not in the know, The Guild is a web series that originally debuted several years ago on Youtube (but now through MSN) and just yesturday premiered it's 4th season.

http://mimg.ugo.com/200910/11624/the-guild.JPGThe series was created by actress Felicia Day (most known as Vi from Buffy as well as roles in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and Bring It On Again - the 2nd movie with no one famous in it) who is a former gaming addict albeit still being a big gamer. She got hooked when she had some free time between roles and eventually decided to make something productive of her time gaming and decided to write a TV pilot based on her experiences as a female gamer. Taking elements from many games, it's quite obvious MMO's like WoW are a huge influence (if you play WoW, you'll catch A LOT of references), despite the fact the game they play in the series is never mentioned to avoid legal issues. While she didn't feel it would fare too well on TV, she took her series to the web, originally hosting it on Youtube before MSN purchased the rights, releasing the latest episodes on their own channels via Xbox, Zune, Bing, and MSN.

Felicia Day also stars as the main character, a female 20-something post college gamer, living on her own and addicted to her favorite MMO, in which she plays a priest named Codex. In the first season we are introduced to her guild The Knights of Good (consisting of 6 members, which in their MMO is the perfect number for instances/raids) when the guild warlock Zaboo shows up at her apartment doorstep, throwing her in-game life into her real-life. Zaboo, who tends to be over the top and a bit socially awkward, has had a crush on Codex for awhile and wants to give a real relationship with her a shot, Codex is a little hesistant though, as she's creeped out by how he got her address. Also, his over-controlling mother is not thrilled that he up and left her either.

http://c2.api.ning.com/files/yhCsS*vRHKhpggP6IkTr0QKT*HvEyh2o-O0gvcrwpd75W68I17hZsNL0344Hj6Z01JyGrN97ZhIETfRWiNTRUAdk-iMCMo*S/theguild.jpgOther members of the guild include their guildleader Vork, who plays a fearsome warrior in game, while in reality he's a broke out of work parent-type figure who is all about business (which shows up in his guild leading); a mage named Clara, who outside the game is a wife and a mother of 3 although sadly she's too hooked to the game to pay any attention to her husband and kids (her marriage goes through a rough patch in season 3); a rogue named Bladezz, who is really just a high schooler who thinks he's badass (sounds like a lot of the kiddies that play WoW!); then there's Tinkerballa (aka Tink) who is the guild ranger/hunter, in real life she's a smart mouthed hot Asian girl, around college age and is always seen with some kind of gaming device (laptop, Nintendo DS, etc).

Ever since the first season, since they all seem to live in the same town, their out of game interactions become more frequent.

The 3rd season starts out with the release of a new expansion, where the gamers are all camped out overnight outside of Gamestop, however they soon butt heads with another guild of gamers on their server known as the Axis of Anarchy who aren't quite so nice and friendly as our Knights of Good.

If you play WoW, Guild Wars or any other type of MMO where you have to be grouped with various people regularly you'll most likely get a kick out of The Guild, as it was made for gamers, about gamers and by a gamer. It's also won several Streamy awards and has been named by Rolling Stone as one of the "Net's best serial shows."

You can check out the first 2 seasons on Netflix's Instant Watch, or find them all on YouTube via the Watch the Guild page. New episodes can be found at www.watchtheguild.com. Seasons 1 and 2 are both safe for work, however in season 3 some of the Axis of Anarchy members swear quite a bit, so you might want to wear headphones!

Open minded hypocrites?

My apologies for no Flashback Friday this week - without having reliable computer access aside from my phone, it's kind of hard to research for a nostalgia post (I'm a fan of using multiple tabs when I'm using a browser and that's kind of hard to do on a phone). Hopefully our PC will be fixed Tuesday and the weekly segments on here will be regular again.

I've been up for about the last hour now, thinking and I felt compelled to get them out.

I get so tired of hearing people say they're open minded about things, religion in particular, when what they say and do is quite opposite.

For example, I'm tired of hearing things like this:
"I hate how some people are so close minded about religion, and how they think their religion is the only one and they can't be convinced otherwise. They should be open minded to the fact that not everyone has the same beliefs as theirs and accept that what works for them may not work for someone else."
Anyone else see the hypocrisy in this statement about being open minded?

http://whi.s3.prod.lg1x8.simplecdn.net/images/1165273/7519_168551710790_537335790_4197718_6692513_n_large.jpg?1261140786
Now I've heard it quite a bit (most notably online), but just recently got to really thinking about it... If you truly are open minded about religion then why are trying to convince others that their beliefs are wrong? Aren't you just doing the same thing that you're complaining that they do?

You're clearly not accepting that their beliefs work for them if you're trying to get them to share your way of thinking. If you really were being open minded you would probably think something along the lines of "Okay, that's what they believe and I accept that... not sure if it works for me, but it's something to keep in mind. Moving on then..."

Being open minded means that you're open to the ideas that others have - if you're not open to the possibility of ideas that differ from your own then, in reality, you're being just as close minded.

I've stated before on here that I'm a Christian, I believe there's only one God, I believe there's a heaven and a hell and I believe that as a Christian the Bible is a sort of instruction book for us.

http://whi.s3.prod.lg1x8.simplecdn.net/images/2495916/tumblr_l3moo2X0UH1qa30yoo1_400_large.jpg?1275887949Feel free to call me close-minded when it comes to religion - by many people's way of thinking, I probably am, as I feel strongly about my beliefs. But please don't go around calling yourself open minded about religion, stating you belief that what works for me doesn't work for you, if you refuse to accept that I believe what I believe. You only make yourself sound like a hypocrite.

Why do people feel the need to share with others? Well, the Bible says to "spread the good news of the Gospel to all" and I'm pretty sure the books of other religions say something similar.

Me personally, I share because I care. I really do care about what happens to my friends, family and those I've come in contact with regarding their eternity in the afterlife. I would HATE to die and find out that my beliefs were right, having not shared what I believe with those in my life and risk never seeing some of them again in Heaven. Yes, it is an individual choice to make, but having made my beliefs known, at least I know they've been given the opportunity to at least consider what I believe. I'm sure there's plenty of others who also share for this same reason as well.

Now I'm not one to often go out of my way (I prefer to lead by example, as I feel strongly that actions speak louder than words), but if the topic comes up, I have no problem sharing, however if you disagree with my beliefs, don't start calling me pushy and get all upset at me because I shared them. Occasionally, like now, I feel compelled to make a religion-heavy post, but again, this is MY blog and I can post/share whatever I feel like - you're not being forced to read this, I'm pretty sure no one's putting a gun to your head, telling you you must read what I write - it was your choice to click the link to this post/blog and continue reading, so don't get upset me for posting something I felt compelled to post on my blog - I'm not forcing you to read it.

Some people are very passionate and excited about what they believe. It's just like in businesses like Mary Kay or Avon - many of the sales reps just love the product or the business and what it's done for them and are excited to share it with others; if you don't care to try it or already have and aren't interested, that's your choice, but don't get upset at them because they're excited to share. And yes, there are some that come off as being pushy and it tends to turns people off completely, but know that not everyone is like that - that usually tends to be the minority.

Now in both real life and online I've come across plenty of people in my life that don't have the same beliefs as me - whether they've tried it in the past and lost their faith or they just come from a completely different background or culture. I'm all for sharing and discussing beliefs - while I personally am not interested in changing my beliefs, it is good to discuss and gain knowledge of what others believe so that you are at least informed.

Do I agree with their beliefs? Based on what my beliefs are, no, I don't. But I'm sure they don't agree with mine either based on what they believe.

I do, however, accept that their beliefs are what they chose for themselves, as ultimately it is their choice to choose what they believe.

To be honest, like many, I don't agree with a lot of things that are happening in the world right now, but I have to accept/tolerate those things because in most cases, there's not really anything I can do about it. Take the BP oil spill for example - like many, I'm not very happy with the way the whole thing is being handled, but there's not really much I can do to change that - it's up to the government and the other officials in charge to make sure it gets stopped and taken care of. All we can do is hope and/or pray that they have the guidance and wisdom to make the right decisions.

Point of the Post:
If you choose to be open minded about religion that's your choice. But the next time you hear someone talking about religion, don't step in and tell them to be open minded and to accept that what works for them may not work for someone else if you yourself aren't going to accept that their beliefs work for them. If you really are open minded and feel that way, you wouldn't be trying to convince them otherwise about their beliefs - you only make yourself look like a hypocrite.

The 2010 Emmy Noms are here - what are your thoughts?

Eleni at RPG Called Life just made a post this afternoon that reminded me - the 2010 Primetime Emmy Nominations were announced today!

I thought I'd share how my favorites did and who I'm rooting for in the major categories. (For the record, I'm once again using my unreliable Powerbook, but we did order a power supply today so our desktop PC should be up and running again Tuesday!)

The big news is that Glee got 19 nominations! Holy cow, that's a lot! I started watching about halfway through the season, having gotten caught up on the series right around its spring return. It's a good show, however I find it being labeled as a comedy a bit strange, as it's more a drama with some humor thrown in.

http://blogs.babble.com/famecrawler/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Modern-Family-Glee.jpg

Also nominated for best comedy are The Office, 30 Rock, Modern Family, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Nurse Jackie. Can't say I heard of Nurse Jackie and the only episode of Curb that I've seen was the rumored Seinfeld reunion one and I wasn't really impressed. 30 Rock I watch from time to time but it's one that I don't follow weekly. Modern Family I've gotten to see quite a bit of and the show's actually pretty! And of course I'm a fan of The Office.

The majority of Best Comedy Actor/Actress and Best Supporting Comedy Actor/Actress come Modern Family and Glee.

http://moderateinthemiddle.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/tb-s2-cast.jpgThe nominees for best drama are pretty predictable - Dexter, The Good Wife, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Lost and my favorite, True Blood. Honestly, this category could go any way - I've heard great things about Mad Men, Breaking Bad is supposed to be really good, and many love Dexter and True Blood.

The majority of Best Drama Actor/Actress and Best Supporting Drama Actor/Actress come from Dexter, Mad Men, Lost, and The Good Wife.

HBO's The Pacific is nominated for Best Miniseries against only 1 other nominee, so it's pretty safe to say it'll win that one - this is another one I've heard really good things about.

South Park also got nominated for another Emmy, this time for their controversial 200th (as well as the 201st) episode that had everyone up in arms over the supposed depiction of Mohammad as a bear (although the joke was that really it was Santa or something in the bear suit... I missed the last batch of episodes before the summer break).

It's interesting to note that Conan O'Brien submitted himself for nomination for his short-lived hosting duty on the Tonight Show (something TBS really pushed for) and got it, while the NBC submitted Tonight Show with Jay Leno didn't make the cut. Conan is up against Steven Colbert, John Stewart, Bill Maher and SNL for Best Variety, Music or Comedy show.

Mike O'Malley is nominated for his reoccurring guest role as Kurt's dad on Glee (for the episode Wheels, where he insists the school let his son audition for the "Defying Gravity" lead) as well as Neil Patrick Harris for his guest role as Bryan Ryan in the Glee episode "Dream On" (which was an awesome performance and duet!). Kristin Chenoweth is also nominated for her reoccurring guest role as April Rhodes on Glee (for the episode The Rhodes Not Taken, where she temporarily rejoins the Glee club). Betty White too is nominated for the Best Comedy Guest Star category, for her hosting stint on SNL.

The all the Modern Family adults received nominations, except for Ed O'Neill, which was kind of a surprise.

http://cdn.wg.uproxx.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/community-cast.jpgI'm a bit surprised at how Community got completely snubbed - I really think Glee should have been listed in the drama category, making room in the comedy categories for Community. It would have been nice to have seen Joel McHale nominated for Best Comedy Actor, Community nominated for Best Comedy, with at least Gillian Jacobs nominated for Best Supporting Actress and either Chevy Chase, Ken Jeong, or Danny Pudi nominated for Best Supporting Actor. It truly is the funniest, best new sitcom of this past TV season - anyone that has watched it tends to say the same thing. It's also interesting to note that on the Official Emmy Gallery, there's quite a bit of photos of the Community cast as well... yet they weren't nominated for anything.

http://annskywalker.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/191515__entourage_l.jpgI'm also surprised that there were no nominations for Entourage either - I would have guessed a nomination for Jamie-Lynn Seigler at least for her reoccurring guest role last season as Turtle's girlfriend. Or even a supporting role nom for Rex Lee as Lloyd, as the character really took a stand this past season. Kinda surprised to see that Entourage got absolutely nothing this year.

Also snubbed was the cast of True Blood - yes, they got nominated for Best Drama, but individually, a lot of people saying Michelle Forbes should have gotten a nom for her portrayal of the evil maenad Mariann Forester, citing there weren't many other actresses that really got into the role like she did.

The Emmy's air on Sunday, August 29 (my birthday!) on NBC and are hosted by Jimmy Fallon this year.

What are your thoughts?
Are you happy with the nominations?
Do you feel any shows are more deserving than others?
Are there some you're surprised didn't make the cut?
Who do you think will win?

Displaying your real name to the masses? So much for protecting your player's safety, Blizzard!

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_utpn85k5ndo/S6kDD58AjvI/AAAAAAAAAKg/al0aeux5keA/s1600/warcraftwednesdays-logo.gif
I am typing this post from my unreliable laptop (as previously mentioned, the power supply on it has issues - I just watched my battery bar jump from 100% down to 7% as the power cord got bumped...) as it is Wednesday and well, the topic of this post is WoW-related and was just announced yesterday - it is kind of a major, important issue for those of us that play any Blizzard-owned game.

Last night hubby was telling me about some upcoming changes that are soon to be implemented on the Blizzard forums, using the Real ID system I mentioned awhile back. Like most, I'm not too thrilled about this upcoming change, in where if you want to post on any of the Blizzard forums (Starcraft, WoW, etc) you will have to sign in using your Real ID which will display your REAL first and last name.

Today, while reading through my Twitter feed, I noticed WoW Youtuber TradeChat posted a link to a post made by Ciderhelm of Tankspot regarding the upcoming change in which he calls it unethical and dangerous (for those not familar with Ciderhelm or Tankspot, he is very well known in the WoW community for posting some of the best instructional raid boss strategy videos that many, many guilds use, link to and reference).

As Ciderhelm posts, there are a few very very bad things that can come from having your Real ID on the WoW forums displaying your real first and last name.

One of the big ones a lot of people aren't thrilled about is that just like anything online, your employer or potential employer can Google your name and anything you post on the Blizzard forums will now show up too - unless you have a really cool boss that plays too, most employers probably won't be too thrilled to learn they hired a gaming addict. And who knows about that boss that plays - could they get in trouble with corporate or their shareholders for being associated with online gaming this easily? Many people play to get away from the stresses of real life - this is just adding one more stress as now all their co-workers can learn that they have a gaming habit. Many that don't play, don't get it and tend to look negatively on those that play, as they see it being a waste of time (try explaining to a non-gamer that you have a raid at 7pm on Saturday night - they may think you're a loser for spending your evening online "playing games" instead of going out for drinks with everyone else). No matter how much time you put into gaming or how much you may actually accomplish or learn (just recently it was learned that a CEO at Starbucks says everything he knows about managing the corporate world he learned from being a guildleader in WoW), many still view gaming as a slacker's hobby and no employer wants to hire a slacker.

Another big issue is gender and age.

There are PLENTY of minors that play WoW, most with parental approval, but honestly, I doubt many of the parents actually monitor their teenage kid's activity in game or what they post on the forums. Now I have met some VERY mature 15 year olds in game, some even playing/raiding with their parents who are also in the guild, but I have also met some VERY immature teens in game too - ones that go off on you for refusing to give them gold handouts, or whine if you beat them in a duel or outroll them on loot (I've also met adults that do this too) - these kids could very well destroy their future on these forums if this is implimented. I'm not saying we should approve of their nasty behavior, but let's face it, kids are kids - teens have a bad habit of not thinking before they say and do things and just like anything online - sure you can go back and delete it, but who knows how many people have already seen what was posted? Not to mention the fact, there's the whole safety issue of Blizzard giving out the first and last names of minors. Sure, it won't display their age with it, but if you run in similar circles in game (PVP circles, raid circles, etc) most likely people in the same circle as you have some rough idea as to your age - like I said, I've come across quite a bit of minors ingame. Who's to say some malicious angry person they may have crossed in game won't take that anger and maliciousness to a whole new level outside the game? I mean they have the kid's name now, which means they could probably find the kid on Facebook, stalk them on there, and do who knows what. This is just fail on Blizzard's part.

And of course many women are fearing an increase in sexual harassment now. Being a female gamer, it's not uncommon to occasionally get hit on or sometimes have unwanted sexual attention or things said to you by some guy in game who found out you were female. Now, with our real names shown, it means ANYONE trolling the forums can know for sure that we're female, roll an alt on our server, and come harass us in game. Reading some of the responses to the Blue Post about this change, there's quite a few females who have come forward stating that Blizzard has done little to nothing regarding with punishing those that sexually harass women in game - all they're doing now is giving those same predators even more women to look up and harass. And not only that, but since they have our names, they can Google us and look up our Facebook and who knows what other accounts and being stalking us outside the game - not very smart, Blizzard!

Another big issue, which I fall into this category, is the safety of those of us with uncommon names. Now my married name is quite common, as is the combination of my husband's first and last name, so he doesn't have too much too worry about with this, as there's hundreds with his name, however, my WoW account is still in maiden name, is it was too much of a pain in the ass to change it to my married name (requires faxing a whole bunch of documents to Blizzard and then some). My maiden name, for those that know me in Real Life, is VERY uncommon. You Google that name and I'm the only one that comes up. And I have a small handful of douches on my server that seem to have it out for me** - the last thing I want is for these jerks to have my real name and be able to track me down outside of game and continue their harassment (as it is, if I'm on my pally - the toon I'm most known by - and I say something in a public chat channel and one of them is in there too, even 2 years later they STILL bring it up and publicly harass me - I've gotten so I ignore it, but I still have to inform the members of whatever guild or group I'm in of what actually happened).

There's also the issue with identity theft too. Now like I said, those with common names, they don't have to worry quite so much about this, and while it has been said that your identity can't be stolen with just your first and last name, well, it gives those that want to do it a good place to start! Like I said, accidentally cross some malicious, angry player and now that they can find out your first and last name via the forums, who knows how and what lengths they'll go to to mess up your life outside the game, all because you outrolled them on an item or beat them in PVP!

This is also gives spammers and hackers one more way to try and steal your account and increase their phishing scams as now with your first and last name they can look you up and spam you even more now in other ways (ie: spam you with fake links to your Facebook account, or even your business email!)

I really hope Blizzard rethinks this through and reconsiders before it goes live with Starcraft 2 at the end of the month - as it is, there's well over 60 pages of people upset and worried about this "solution." The whole reason for it, Blizzard is saying, is to put an end to trolling and spamming on the forums, which is annoying, but like others have suggested, there's other ways to go about it, such as make the person choose which toon of theirs they want their Real ID to be associated with or make it so that regardless with toon they post with, you can still see all the other toons associated with that Real ID, or even make it so the toon you're posting under is a certain level to post - that would take care of all the lowbie and level 1 trolls!

Displaying a player's real first and last name with their posts in the forums is just a bad, bad idea - there's too many bad, malicious problems that can come from this, as not everyone in the World of Warcraft (or the Blizzard gaming community for that matter) is nice, friendly and innocent.

As it is, there's plenty of players who don't really even post on their realm forums where much of this trolling and drama is spurned from, but they do share mechanics and suggestions with others in the class forums, to help others learn how to play their character's class and spec better. There's also plenty of people who post on the customer service and tech support forums, to share with Blizzard what their problem is and work with the mods and staff to find a solution, all publicly so that others with the same problem can see what to do to fix it. Now these "good samaritans" to the Blizzard community will be at risk for harassment outside the game as well as even identity theft.

I know if this is implimented I most likely won't EVER post on the forums anymore - it's just not worth the harassment I know I'll get from those few jerks who are convinced I did something I didn't. Although then again, maybe they'll finally drop it, knowing that I can see their real name now too... either way... it's still not cool.

Way to fail, Blizzard. Way. To. Fail.

**hubby's account got hacked over 2 years ago and the hacker robbed the guild bank as he was an officer and then transferred the character to another server, Blizzard took like a month to restore it cuz they had to do an investigation into the case due to the severity of the hack, we have the emails to prove all this, yet since I had quit the guild months prior due to personal issues I had with the leadership several of the guildleaders and friends of theirs seem convinced it was all my doing, even though I was on another toon of mine when it happened. They're also convinced we sold the items and such to a gold site and used the money to pay for our wedding, even though Blizzard eventually restored everything and my parents paid for our wedding - I highly doubt the value of the items that were stolen cost enough real life money to even pay for my dress, let alone an entire wedding!

20 Days!

20 days til our first ultrasound! I'm sooooooo excited!

I know I'll feel so much better and at ease once we can actually see that the kiddo is doing just fine =)

Also, my mom told me something interesting the other day...

I was on the phone with her and I asked her about something my dad posted on Facebook recently - one of my aunts posted about being baby crazy cuz of me and a friend of hers being pregnant and my dad mentioned my mom and him were talking recently about how funny it would if hubby and I had twins.

Mom confessed, apparently, on her side of the family there's a set of twins going back to just before my grandma's time, and there's also a set on my grandpa's side that far back too. So far, no other set of twins have showed up in the family, so mom and dad were saying it's gotta show up at some point, you would think!

I haven't mentioned this bit of info to hubby yet - last time I was all "hey, what if we have twins?" his response was that he didn't want to think about that yet, lol... we'll know in like 20 days though if there's an extra kiddo chillin' out in me. I wouldn't mind, especially if it's one of each, since that means we wouldn't have to worry about having anymore kids for awhile!
