I realize I've been a horrible blogger as of late... the reasoning behind it is that I don't get much time
alone to really sit down and blog these days and when I do get a rare moment alone I'd rather relax and waste time doing other things.

That said though... here's the latest photos on my phone, albeit a few days late =)

Jay and his Aunt Katie, being silly together

My birthday was last Wednesday but since I had to work Wednesday (I requested it off but for some reason my boss misread it and gave me Thursday off instead... O.o) Thursday was celebration day!

Hubby and Jay got me these babies: chicBuds earbuds with blue Swarovski Crystals! I LOVE the retractable feature on the earbuds so they don't get tangled and have been wanting a pair of chicBuds for like a year or so!

 Getting my annual birthday pedicure

The color is called Chicago Champagne Toast by OPI

Hubby took me to see The Expendables 2 and then we went for dinner at Olive Garden. Afterwards we stopped at Toys R Us to see if their Thomas the Train sale had started that day or if it was the next as I couldn't remember what the flyer said (it was the next). We saw this adorable girl's Robin costume! If we had a little girl I would have soooo bought it!

We did find WoW Megablock Legos though!
I got the Tauren on the Wyvern while hubby got the Draenai on the Griffin.

Jay had fun taking a bubble bath:

I build my WoW Megablock set after Jay went to bed =)

Dog bed I picked up for under $30 at Walmart for Lady Girl. We had to give back the doggie crate my friend was letting me borrow as her dog was acting up and they needed it. She seemed confused as to where to lay at night so we thought she needed a bed of her own.

 Can you spot Jay?
Little stinker climbed up on the loveseat and poked his head under the blinds to look out =D

We went over to my parent's house Sunday night to celebrate my birthday with my family. Jay decided to climb into the toybox ottoman!

Other gifts I got for my birthday:
Once Upon a Time, season 1 on DVD
The Tigger Movie on DVD
Ferris Bueller's Day Off on DVD
Enchanted on DVD
Divergent paperback
Giftcards to Old Navy and Target

It's Monday, so that means it's time to link-up once again!
Hubby took this one of Jay sticking a business card between his toes. That stinker remembered as a day or 2 before this he was going through my wallet so I let him play with our realtor's old business card and I started sticking it between his toes - he thought it was hilarious that his toes could hold something... so here he is doing it himself!

Jay decided to help "pick-up" in the family.
Here he is, putting one of the couch pillows into his pack and play.
Everything he threw into his pack and play... including 3 of the 4 couch pillows

The rest of his toys/belongings from the family room he threw down the stairs.

We went to Target with my mom Saturday evening while she shopped for my dad for Father's Day. Here's some of the deals we found for $1 - a Garfield At the Zoo book, Crayola sidewalk chalk, a Sesame Street notepad, some Sesame Street color and shape flash cards, some Roseart watercolor paints. I also got his 1st Christmas present for this year too - a talking, plush Super Grover Target Exclusive that was 50% off on clearance (so $9.98).

Hubby's Father's Day loot - from Jay he got the movie Role Models (last year he "gave" him Big Daddy) and the 1st Calvin and Hobbes collection; I gave him V for Vendetta on DVD as well as Civil War Trivia book and Great Maps of the Civil War (hubby's big into Civil War stuff).

Scooting around the table.

Drinking Grammie's iced tea.

Sitting pretty with daddy on the couch.

My baby boy is 16 months old today (that's 2 months shy of being a year and a half old, people!) - when did this happen?! Seems like we were just celebrating his 1st birthday not that long ago!

Anywho, a few hours late, but....

...here's my phone photos from this past week!

I thought he was sleeping pretty funny-like, although he flinched when my camera
flash went off (hence the crazy hand!)

If you saw my photos from last week's post, then you know we spent most of Monday outside, having fun and enjoying the Memorial Day holiday. Tuesday I went to get ready for work and noticed a major heat rash outbreak all over my shoulders/neck there on both sides (although the right side here was the worst!). What you can't see is the tiny millions of pimples all over there. Yeah, it sucked and took most of the rest of the week with me rubbing aloe vera gel on it at least twice a week to clear up. It still feels a little bumpy, but not nearly as bad as it was!

Friday afternoon, Jay slept til almost noon (have a late bedtime, get to sleep in - score!) and when he does that he usually isn't ready to go down for his nap til at least 3pm (normally he wakes up between 930 and 1030 and is down for his nap between noon and 1pm). So I decided that after he ate we'd go grocery shopping. I got a little ways down the road and noticed he was being really quite back there so I looked back while at a stoplight (thought maybe he fell back asleep!) and saw him "reading" his Berenstein Bears book! I went to grab my phone and by the time I took a picture he was staring out the window, like he was pondering, lol...

I saw these at Sam's Club and decided to give it a try! Just add ice cubes and blend together! They were only about $4.50 each and claim you can get 11 servings out of each bottle. My Android-Wife-Buddy Holli (there's a handful of us who have geeky Android fan-boy hubbies, so of course all us wives had to get to know each other too, lol...) asked if they were healthy in addition to being yummy... says it's made with natural ingredients, but then it says only 17% is actual juice, so who knows... but they taste good! LOL

We had a Lazy Sunday and at one point Jay wanted to watch one of his Elmo DVDs so we put it in and I pulled a pillow off the couch and laid down on the floor near him. He decided to come sit by me =)

We're starting 'em young on the technology!
I wanted to check out www.sproutonline.com and see what videos/games they have on their mobile site. Unfortunately on the tablet it kept wanting me to download their app and wouldn't let me access the actual site so I went into the app market on my (formerly hubby's) Samsung Galaxy Tablet and was waiting for it to download and install. Well... Jay saw the thumbnail images of his Sprout "friends" and got really excited, grabbed the tablet from me and took off running down the hall with it before plopping down on the floor and figuring out how to make a thumbnail image bigger O.o

A few days late, but given the holiday weekend, it was expected!

Anywho, this weekend was busy for us!

Jay watching his new Wiggles DVD - I had to buy him another one as, well, watching the same one over and over and over was driving me nuts, lol...

Drinking from his sippy cup with no hands - one his "regular" tricks

So, Monday, we ran some errands, like going to PetCo to get some kitty food. I want him to get used to the idea of walking and holding hands and since that parking lot isn't very busy during the weekdays I decided it would be a great opportunity to let him walk from the car to the store holding my hand. He did great on our way in, but on our way out, we got just feet from the car when he lost his footing and fell on his knees. One just got dirty, but the other got skinned! I cleaned up and sprayed some neosporin on it when we got home later. Poor baby! I took this the day after to make sure his 1st scraped knee was documented!

Moments before this was taken, he was walking around with burpie over his head like it was a hood, lol... then he started walking around with it like this, like it was a cape!

A pretty little moth just chillin' on the otherside of our sliding glass patio door.

Friday night was the start of our busy weekend! We saw hubby's brothers' band (The Broken Fall) play their 1st Friday night gig since they started playing shows again. Two of hubby's brothers are in the middle - the one playing the guitar at the mic and the one on the drums. It was a good show, but very loud (my ears were ringing the rest of the night!)

A hard rock cover band went on after them and this was their drumkit - holy cymbals Batman!

Saturday I worked the opening shift as my parents were out of town Friday and most of Saturday as dad took mom into Chicago and that was the only time hubby was around to watch Jay so I could get a shift in. I had some time to kill after before needing to get home so I stopped a few stores out at the mall there and found this butterfly hair clip for $1! I like it, but can't really wear it around home as I can't put my head back when it's in...

Sunday we went to the local rock music festival that was called Rock Monkey Ruckus this year. I wrote a few years back about the annual tradition of the local Wing Ding festival. This is basically the same thing, only for whatever reason they're not calling it Wing Ding anymore (last year it was just simply "The Concert"). After a friend on Facebook mentioned pre-gaming before the event, hubby and I stopped and got some booze of our own. They didn't have any of the mini-Malibu's so I got this baby, and mixed it in with the large Pepsi I got at lunch beforehand. I drank most of it and was feeling pretty good by the time we got from our car to the gate.

We parked our car and soon after this kidnapper-looking van pulls up and these teenage looking people climb out. This one dude in particular totally looked like he could be a member of the group LMFAO!

This was during Taproot. I saw them at the House of Blues Chicago back in July 2003. They played some of their well-known songs, but it was soooooo hot (98 degrees and bright hot sun most of the day!) we only stayed out there for about 10 minutes or so before retreating to the shade under the bleachers at the Speedway there.

 This year's banner
In case you didn't know, Rockford is the birthplace of those crazy sock monkey dolls you had as a kid. Rock Monkey is a badass rocker sock monkey and the local rock station's new mascot.

Where we spent a good bit of the afternoon - underneath the bleachers. Someone started a game too where you toss rocks across the walk way and try to knock a beer bottle around, lol...

I ran into a few friends I knew from back in the day and keep in touch with via Facebook.

 NONPOINT!!!
These guys never disappoint - I used to come home and see them play one of the local clubs quite frequently back when I was in college.

The sun finally started going down a bit and cast some shade on a part of the Speedway track so we sat out there for a bit and listened to All That Remains. I recognized some of their songs from Guitar Hero and my college days.

Maybe a little hard to tell, but that kid was awesome all day - he had an awesome mohawk going and just spent the day rockin' out!

The crew setting up the stage for headliner's Volbeat. Their speakers had some neat designs on them!

A crappy pic, but that's Volbeat on stage. Personally, I think they're the best "new" rock band of last year (2011). No autotune or electronic/computerized messing with their sound - they're just pure, hard rockin' rock! And I LOVE it!

Jay spent his Memorial Day afternoon playing in his water table as it was in the upper 80s most of the day.

Hubby was doing some editing on one of his stories on the deck there while waiting for the grill's charcoals to warm up. Jay pulled up his seat and sat down by daddy too! I was shucking corn at the kitchen table and looked out and saw this and had to get a picture!

 Grilling with daddy!

Enjoying his cookout of cheeseburger, bun, corn off the cob, and potato salad!

 Our feast!

That stinker, he scooted his picnic table to the middle of the deck and started dumping his plate on the table, all while making his "I'm not doing anything, mommy..." face at me, lol...

And his hair needed a trim so I attempted it myself... yeah, not such a good job - he's kinda rockin' a mullet as we kept it long in back. Doh!
