One way to get a free meal
Josh took me out on a date last Friday. It was a surprise date, as he wouldn't tell me where we were going.
For dinner, he took me to Mongolian BBQ, however we ended up having our dinner on the house.
We got there and the hostess seated us... 5 minutes goes by... 10 minutes goes by as do several waitresses... another couple walks in and is seated behind us and has service within 2 minutes.
We wait a few more minutes...
Josh finally flags down a waitress and asks to speak with the manager. We explain to him how we've been sitting here with our menus for over 15minutes and waitresses keep coming by, yet no one has come to take our drinks or order, yet another couple comes in after us and has service immediately. He tells us he will take care of us, find our waiter, and will personally be making sure our needs are met.
Halfway through our meal, the waiter informs us that the manager said he will be paying for our meal. Sweet!!
After dinner Josh took me to see The Ugly Truth which just came out in theaters that night. It was pretty funny and I'm surprised Josh actually seemed to enjoy it too, as much as he had previously stated he didn't care to see it.
We came home after and had some time to ourselves and he made us some drinks too. It was a fun night! I like surprises!

Newlywed couple receives 24 toasters!
Claire and Stuart Linley had asked for cash or vouchers from their 160 guests, which they planned to put toward a honeymoon.
They first realized something was up when they received a pile of gifts all in the same shaped box.
When Mrs Linley began to open the presents she was bemused to find that each one was a Tesco white 2-slice toaster.
Then it emerged the "coincidence" was actually a joke conceived on Mr Linley's stag party in Ibiza.
The auto-electrician, 31, said: "The boys were asking me what I wanted as a wedding present, and I said either money or vouchers because I didn't want to end up with a million toasters.
"Then one of my friends took it upon himself to tell everyone to buy us a toaster.
"On the morning when we came to open our presents I knew something was going on as I had had about 15 text messages asking if I was having toast for breakfast."
The couple, who married at Howden Minster, East Yorkshire, last Saturday, have now returned 23 of the toasters, but decided to keep one.
Mrs Linley, 31, an estate agent, said: "When we went to open our presents and saw all the boxes were the same shape I thought, 'this is quite strange', and then we began to open them and it was toaster after toaster after toaster.
"It was hilarious really. Most of them were from Tesco and when we took them back to the store the staff couldn't stop laughing.
"We did make beans on toast for lunch when we got home though."

Billy Mays, RIP
Here's a video clip of Billy Mays & Anthony Sullivan on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien just last week.
I had been watching the show Pitchmen on the Discovery Channel the last few months and it was interesting to see all the behind the scenes of the commercials and infomercials Billy and Sully have done, how they work together, etc. It's a shame he died at only 50!
Love him or hate him, you and your loud booming voice will be missed!
RIP Billy Mays!

"New Divide" by Linkin Park
"I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me.
I remembered each flash as time began to blur
Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me
And your voice was all I heard...
That I get what I deserve
So give me reason
to prove me wrong
to wash this memory clean
Let the floods cross
the distance in your eyes
Give me reason
to fill this hole
connect the space between
Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies
Across this new divide
There was nothing in sight
but memories left abandoned
There was nowhere to hide
the ashes fell like snow
And the ground caved in
between where we were standing
And your voice was all I heard
That I get what I deserve
So give me reason
to prove me wrong
to wash this memory clean
Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes
Across this new divide
In every loss
in every lie
In every truth that you'd deny
And each regret
and each goodbye
was a mistake too great to hide
And your voice was all I heard
That I get what I deserve
So give me reason
to prove me wrong
to wash this memory clean
Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes
Give me reason
to fill this hole
connect the space between
Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies
Across this new divide
Across this new divide."
It's been awhile since I've heard a Linkin Park song that I could really relate to. I fell in love with Hybrid Theory back in early high school... I've come to appreciate and enjoy some of the Reanimation and Jay-Z remixes... Meteora was alright for a sophomore album - a few of the songs were really good. Minutes to Midnight... there were a few songs I liked musically and had a catchy chorus, but overall I didn't really seem to identify with it much.
I *really* like this song though, especially the first half of the chorus as it says exactly how I've been feeling lately and what I've been struggling with.
Way to go LP - you made me feel better about still having the online moniker of LPchick.
